Restoration of a Ben Hur scene by scenic artists
employed by Savages in 1890,
on canvas from the centre of Ayres Gallopers. Hidden for years
under many layers of paint. |

FIGURES
Splendid trio of organ figures from the organ in the centre
of Ayres Gallopers.
The movements were mended by organ builder Andrew Whitehead,
before stripping and repainting by Vicky Postlethwaite.

BOTTOM
CENTRE SHUTTERS
Two panels from the set of bottom centre shutters from Ayres
Gallopers.
The tiger is an original by Fred Packer, cleaned and restored,
the bear is one of three new animal portraits. |

GALLOPER
SHIELDS
A very rare set of shields which
would have covered the joint between the rounding boards on
a roundabout.
Possibly unique, they were damaged and covered in layers of
paint,
the original Wild West themed portraits and beautiful carved
frames have been successfully restored. |
